I moved from Michigan to southwest Germany on July 15 of last year. (So it hasn't been a full year exactly, but it will be in a few days.)
After living in Michigan for my whole life, I felt like this was a needed change. I don't plan to stay forever (and I certainly miss Michigan), but life had been stagnant for a few years, and a big change helped me change my perspective of the world and of my career/life.
